NEARDATA creates an extreme-data infrastructure that mediates data flows between object storage and data analytics platforms across the compute continuum. Its XtremeDataHub platform acts as an intermediary data service, intercepting and optimizing data flows through APIs such as S3 and streaming interfaces with high-performance near-data connectors in the cloud and at the edge.
The project also develops a Data Broker service for secure access to and orchestration of dispersed data sources, using trusted execution environments and federated-learning architectures. The resulting platform supports mining large, distributed, and unstructured datasets across cloud, edge, HPC, and IoT environments while providing a confidential-computing layer for trusted data processing.
