Teaching

Teaching activities, courses, and student project supervision in distributed systems, cloud computing, systems administration, and high-performance computing.

My teaching focuses on understanding how computing systems work beneath their abstractions. I combine foundational concepts with practical experience so that students can reason about, build, and operate systems ranging from individual machines to distributed and high-performance computing platforms.

Current teaching

Previous teaching

  • Advanced Programming Techniques (BSc in Computer Engineering · Universitat Rovira i Virgili)— Practical sessions instructor for this 6 ECTS course during the 2019–20, 2020–21, and 2021–22 academic years. Topics included programming paradigms, type systems, software architecture, design patterns, refactoring, testing, and robust software design.
  • Cloud Foundations (Microcredential · Fundació URV)— Academic coordinator and instructor for the 2025 edition of this online 3 ECTS university microcredential, covering cloud infrastructure, security, networking, compute, storage, databases, monitoring, and scalable architectures.

Thesis supervision

Alongside my courses, I supervise bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral theses in distributed systems, cloud and serverless computing, high-performance computing, data-intensive applications, and related areas.

See the Students page for current students and a complete list of supervised theses. Prospective students can also find available proposals through the official ETSE TFG/TFM portal or contact me by email to discuss an idea.
